FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE AIB

When and where?

The 2024 AIB will be held at the Woods Inn in Inlet, NY on Friday, Jan. 31 through Sunday, Feb. 2.

When do players check in?

Each Team Captain is REQUIRED to attend the Captain’s meeting held the evening before the tournament on Thursday, January 28th, at 8:00pm at the Screamen Eagle (roughly 250 yards north of the Woods Inn) . All players’ waiver forms are due at this meeting.

Early check-in is held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, January 22nd, Location is TBD.  Check-in will resume Friday morning, January 23 from 8am – 12pm at the Registration Booth located on the ice in front of Rink 1.

What is the format of this year’s tournament?

All games will be played in a four-on-four, no goalie format. Games consist of two 15-minute halves with a 5-minute intermission. All games will start at their designated time to maximize the use of daylight. If your team is not accounted for at the start of your game, teams will have to make do with players present or forfeit the match.

How many games does my team play?

All teams are guaranteed three games with the possibility for more if they make it to the medal rounds.

How many players can teams have?

Four players are needed to play but teams can carry up to six players (two substitutes).  Goalies are not needed as pond hockey nets are used.  Players can only play for one team in the tournament.
